More Slices Come From Taylor Swift’s Newest Song
Mixing her “Love Song” tendencies with her newfound attempt at rapping, Taylor Swift has released a new single.
Right away in the first few lyrics, Taylor once again addresses her feuds, referencing that her “castle crumbled overnight,” and that she “brought a knife to a gun fight,” and that “they took the crown but it’s alright.”
Picking it apart, it is obviously the collective THEY, like Kanye West, Kim Kardashian, Katy Perry, etc, who have *tarnished* her reputation. Remember, this whole album is going to be “Reputation” based, aka “all the things Taylor wants to address.”
Saying that “all the liars are calling me one,” she leads into how her baby, AKA Joe Alwyn, we assume, is the warmth in her storm.
It’s interesting how she mashes the two together, like “Hey, let’s talk about all my drama” and “but that’s okay, I’ve got my dude,” but if the whole album tends to just be repetitively talking about her feuds, depending on who you are and what you’re interested in, you may get bored pretty fast.
We’ll have to see what comes of Reputation, which drops November 10.
