  “Public Enemy No. 1”, John Dillinger, was killed by FBI agents outside of Chicago’s Biograph Theatre

• 1942

  The Holocaust, the systematic deportation of Jews from the Warsaw Ghetto, began.

  Aretha Franklin was arrested by the Detroit police for causing a disturbance in a parking lot. She reportedly ran down a street sign as she drove away from the police station.
