2025 Album Releases You Need to Know About
The entertainment industry had an eventful 2024 and now it’s time to look forward to 2025; specifically, music that some of the biggest artists will release this year. Get ready because this year’s album drops are about to get more intense.
2025 Album Releases
The Weeknd – Hurry Up Tomorrow
Per Variety, The Weeknd will release his upcoming album Hurry Up Tomorrow on January 24, 2025. The next day, he will have a one-night-only concert at the Rose Bowl, where he will perform songs from the album. In addition to the concert, there is an upcoming suspense thriller of the same name, starring The Weeknd, Jenny Ortega and Barry Keoghan. Described as a “musically driven psychological thriller,” the film will premiere on May 16, 2025, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Lady Gaga – LG7
Lady Gaga will also release an album this year and fans have her fiancé Michael Polansky to thank! In an interview with Vogue, Gaga said, “Michael is the person who told me to make a new pop record. He was like, ‘Babe. I love you. You need to make pop music.’” In February 2025 (no exact date yet), she will be releasing LG7. To get a taste of what’s to come, Gaga released the lead single, “Disease” on October 25, 2024.
LISA – Alter Ego
BLACKPINK’s Lisa will release her anticipated solo album, Alter Ego on February 28, 2025.
Lisa began teasing about her album on her social media and posted about several “alter egos,” ROXI, VIXI, SUNNI, SPEEDI and KIKI. She released her album’s third single, “Moonlit Floor,” on October 4, 2024, and fans have speculated it’s about her rumored boyfriend, Frédéric Arnault, the French CEO of LVMH Watches.
It’s no wonder fans thought of that with the lyrics, “Green-eyed French boy got me trippin’/How your skin is always soft/How your kisses always hit/How you know just where to.”
Ye – Bully
Kanye, or Ye, will also release an album this year. Bully doesn’t have an exact date of release yet, but Ye already informed fans during the Vultures 2 listening event in China last year that he was dropping an album per XXLMag.
Lana Del Rey – The Right Person Will Stay
On her Instagram account, Lana Del Rey announced her latest album, The Right Person Will Stay, is scheduled for a May 21, 2025 release. She captioned her post, “The right person will stay’ Out May 21 so grateful that my 13 tracks came together with my beautiful work between Luke, Jack, Zach and Drew Erickson amongst others. Happy for you to hear a few songs coming up before Stagecoach 🚴 🧣 starting with Henry. Love Always”
