A winter storm is set to hit our region this weekend, but just how much snow is involved is up in the air right now.

Get your magic 8 ball out if you’re hoping for Fayetteville to get snow this weekend, because it’s a little up in the air right now.

By now, most of you have likely heard that a major winter storm is heading toward the entire East Coast this weekend. And while it DEFINITELY will contain snowfall for many people, Fayetteville and the surrounding area will likely only get ice and not snow. That might be worse. And of course talking about snow means we’ve now jinxed any chance of it coming, but since we can talk about Bruno again safely, why not snow?

The National Weather Service issued a Winter Storm Watch for much of the region, with Cumberland County dancing along the edge.

The NC Emergency Management folks are currently projecting just some ice accumulation for our area, likely coming in Saturday night and into Sunday.
