Wednesday, August 16th, 2023 marked the first broadcast of Pine Forest Trojan Talk, live from Sunset Slush, 3712 Ramsey St, in Fayetteville’s north side!
Pine Forest High School is a place where EVERYONE and EVERYTHING MATTERS! The Pine Forest Trojans 2023 football team ready for the upcoming gridiron season, facing Cape Fear on the road in the opening game Friday, August 18th at 7:30 (Pregame at 7pm on Sunny 94.3 FM, courtesy of Mid-South Sports.)

Guests in this first show from Pine Forest High School included Head Coach Bill Sochovka (a veteran of 29 seasons at the school), Principal Dr. Juelle McDonald, Athletic Director Lonnie Cox, rising Senior defensive back/wide receiver Fred Logan, and past players Julian McNenney, Josh and Isiah. Other featured guests included Steve Driggers (proud Pine Forest Alumnus and Chief Operating Officer of the Mid-South Sports Network, who independently choose games for broadcast on Mid-South and Sunny 94.3 FM.)
Also joining the show was Kathy Jensen, Fayetteville City Councilperson (District 1, serving the North Side and Spring Lake area). Kathy graduated from Pine Forest High School. She married a soldier, Jerry Jensen,. After his service was up, they relocated to Fayetteville’s northside, raising their five children in the city in which she grew up.
