Libraries Close to Public at 6 p.m. Tuesday Until Further Notice
From Cumberland County:
FAYETTEVILLE – Beginning Tuesday, March 17, at 6 p.m. Cumberland County will close all eight library branches to the public and volunteers. The locations are:
- Headquarters Library, 300 Maiden Lane
- Bordeaux Branch, 3711 Village Dr.
- Cliffdale Regional Branch, 6882 Cliffdale Rd.
- East Regional Branch, 4809 Clinton Rd.
- Hope Mills Branch, 3411 Golfview Rd.
- North Regional Branch, 855 McArthur Rd.
- Spring Lake Branch, 101 Laketree Blvd.
- West Branch, 7469 Century Circle
During the closure, all late fees will be waived. Patrons can return materials to drop boxes located outside each library.
Library cardholders are encouraged to utilize digital resources through the County’s 24/7 virtual library at cumberland.lib.nc.us. Users can access eBooks, eAudiobooks, digital magazines, online databases, continuing education courses, music and more.
To talk to a librarian from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. residents may call 910-483-7727 or you can do an online chat through the cumberland.lib.nc.us website.
Due to the closure, the library branches will not be used as locations for distribution of Cumberland County Schools curriculum materials.
If residents believe they have symptoms of COVID-19, they can call Cape Fear Valley Health System’s nurses’ line at 910-615-LINK (5465). If you have questions about COVID-19, you can call the N.C. Department of Health and Human Services hotline at 1-866-462-3821.
In addition, the County has opened a general Cumberland Information Line at 910-678-7657 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays to handle calls regarding County services.
