It's always complete and utter mayhem at the Royal Rumble. Just how we like it!

It’s been a tumultuous week for the wrestling world, and recent news coming out is certainly far more important than any entertainment happening in the ring.

News broke this week of deeply harrowing accusations directed mostly at former WWE chairman Vince McMahon. These accusations are currently under investigation, with more information surely to come out in the following weeks.

I sincerely hope that justice prevails in the end, and that those involved are held accountable. As of right now, the Royal Rumble is still set to proceed as scheduled, and while this certainly pales in comparison to the recent news, the WWE performers and staff not involved in the situation have worked tirelessly to build excitement among fans going into the weekend.

Until more information comes to light, I would like to analyze the show itself as I normally would, while also extending my condolences to those affected by these tragic circumstances.

With the beginning of the new year comes one of the most thrilling live events for wrestling fans everywhere: the Royal Rumble! And in typical KC fashion, I bring to you my impeccably accurate predictions for every single match on the card! Because that’s worked out sooooo well for me in the past, right?

While WrestleMania may technically be the biggest wrestling show of the year, the Royal Rumble is arguably the most popular among wrestling fans. It’s not hard to see why either. Since 2018 the show has featured two separate Rumble matches for men and women.

This Saturday thirty superstars in each Rumble will enter the ring and try to throw the 29 others out of it. If you’re thrown over the top rope and both feet hit the floor you are eliminated from the match. If this sounds like a bunch of grown men and women playing the ultimate game of The Floor Is Lava, it totally is. And it’s AWESOME.

In addition to the fast-paced action, the Royal Rumble is also notorious for providing many jaw-dropping surprises in the form of returning superstars and legends. The Rumble match is also where the talented young prospects of NXT, WWE’s developmental brand, can showcase their skills to a larger audience.

The stakes for each entrant couldn’t be higher either, with the winner of each Rumble going on to compete for a world championship of their choosing at what’s sure to be a historic WrestleMania XL.

The air of unpredictability makes WWE Royal Rumble a can’t-miss show. And this year’s card looks to be one of the most off-the-wall yet! Since I have 60 total Rumble entrants to choose from, most of whom haven’t even been revealed as of the time of this article, I have my work cut out for me like never before.

That being said, let’s take a look at who I think – nay – who I KNOW is going to win at the Royal Rumble!

  • Logan Paul (C) vs. Kevin Owens - United States Championship

    My pick: Kevin Owens*

The reason behind my asterisk there is because I think Kevin Owens will technically win the match, though he will not be walking out of Tropicana Field as the United States champion. As the match goes on I foresee Logan Paul growing more and more frustrated with his inability to keep KO down. Sensing his title reign coming to an end, the insufferable influencer will likely get himself disqualified in a desperate bid to hold the championship for a little while longer.

It’s generally a safe bet to assume that championships likely won’t change hands this close to WrestleMania, and this match in particular just screams “dusty finish” to me.

  • Roman Reigns (C) vs. Randy Orton vs. AJ Styles vs. LA Knight - Undisputed WWE Universal Championship

    My pick: Roman Reigns

At this point I think it’s abundantly clear that the Tribal Chief Roman Reigns is keeping his long-held Undisputed WWE Universal Championship until at least WrestleMania. As shocking and delightful as it would be to see any of his opponents emerge victorious in the fatal four-way match, it just isn’t happening. I have a better chance of winning the Rumble match itself than Orton, Styles or Knight have of winning the top prize on Saturday.

And speaking of Rumble matches, onward to the make-or-break predictions!

  • Women's Royal Rumble Match

    My pick: Bayley

Bayley has had a troubling time with her friends in Damage CTRL as of late. Though the stable remains intact you can still sense an air of tension between the group and their founder.

Once Asuka and a returning Kairi Sane joined the fray, I had a feeling the seeds were being planted for WWE Women’s Champion Iyo Sky to eventually betray Bayley and kick her out of the group. What better catalyst for this than Bayley winning the Rumble match, which would all but cement a title match between the two on the grand stage of WrestleMania?

  • Men's Royal Rumble Match

    My pick: CM Punk

Ever since CM Punk’s earth-shattering return to WWE in November, the wrestle-sphere has been abuzz with theories and speculation as to what lies ahead for the straightedge superstar. One of the theories that I think holds the most water is Punk going the distance and winning the men’s Rumble match.

Make no mistake, even as confident as I am in this pick it wasn’t an easy choice to make. There are many worthy contenders already guaranteed to appear in the match. Other confirmed entrants include past Rumble winners like Bobby Lashley, Drew McIntyre, Shinsuke Nakamura, and of course the “American Nightmare” Cody Rhodes.

The world title scene on Raw was also further complicated when World Heavyweight Champion Seth “Freakin” Rollins revealed he had torn his MCL and would need a couple months to recoup. He still plans on defending his championship at WrestleMania, however, which compels me to believe the end game for night one is still Rollins vs. Punk for the gold.

But of course I’ve wanted CM Punk to win the Rumble since his first showing in 2007, so I may be a tad biased.

  • How To Watch

You can watch WWE Royal Rumble Saturday, January 27, 8 p.m. ET, only on Peacock!
