(L to R) DANIELLA PINEDA as FAYE VALENTINE, JOHN CHO as SPIKE SPIEGEL and MUSTAFA SHAKIR as JET BLACK on the set of COWBOY BEPOP.

Cowboy Bebop is getting its Netflix live-action treatment, and the first images from the series dropped today.

The live-action adaptation is set to explore the galaxy with our favorite bounty hunter Spike Spiegel, who is joined by Jet and Faye Valentine on their search for bounties to make a living. John Cho (Spike), Mustafa Shakir (Jet) and Daniella Pineda (Faye) are spitting images of their anime counterparts, from the classic 1998 anime series.

Per Comicbook.com, original anime series director Shinichiro Watanabe is a consultant on the series, while original composer Yoko Kanno returns for the live-action adaptation. The series also stars Alex Hassell and Elena Satine.

Below is the official description for Netflix’s Cowboy Bebop:

Cowboy Bebop is an action-packed space Western about three bounty hunters, aka ‘cowboys,’ all trying to outrun the past. As different as they are deadly, Spike Spiegel (John Cho), Jet Black (Mustafa Shakir), and Faye Valentine (Daniella Pineda) form a scrappy, snarky crew ready to hunt down the solar system’s most dangerous criminals — for the right price. But they can only kick and quip their way out of so many scuffles before their pasts finally catch up with them.”

Watch the trailer for the original series below. It’s due out later this year.
