The Fayetteville Animal Protection Society will give out free pet vaccines and microchips on May 2, 2026. It's a drive-thru event at Crown Coliseum running from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., and you don't need to sign up ahead of time.

Rabies vaccines are available for cats and dogs 12 weeks or older. North Carolina law mandates that all cats and dogs get this shot. Rabies is deadly and can jump to humans, making this protection critical for both pets and people.

Dogs six weeks or older can get DHPP/DAPPV vaccines at no cost. This shot shields dogs from distemper, hepatitis, parvovirus, and parainfluenza.

Cats six weeks or older can receive HCP/FVRCP vaccines. The shot guards against herpesvirus, calicivirus, and panleukopenia.

Free microchipping is offered for cats and dogs six weeks and up. The chip is tiny, about the size of a rice grain, and gives your pet permanent identification if they get lost and wind up at a vet clinic, shelter, or rescue group. Staff will hand out registration instructions during the event.

Everyone must remain in their vehicles unless the veterinary team asks you to step out. Dogs need leashes. Cats must be in carriers. Staff can refuse service to any animal they deem unsafe.

Critical Path Solutions sponsors this event, while Petco Love donated the HCP and DHPP vaccines. Crown Coliseum sits at 1960 Coliseum Drive in Fayetteville.
