The Tennessee Titans grabbed cornerback Joshua Williams on a two-year deal when NFL free agency opened. Williams won two Super Bowl rings across his four seasons with the Kansas City Chiefs.

The contract's financial details weren't released. Williams enters his fifth year as a pro after spending every season with Kansas City.

Kansas City grabbed Williams in the fourth round of the 2022 NFL Draft. He became just the second player from Fayetteville State history to get drafted into the NFL.

Williams built his reputation at Fayetteville State between 2018 and 2021 where he racked up 79 tackles, fifty-five of those being solo stops. The Broncos reached the CIAA championship game all four years he wore the uniform.

His defining play came in the 2022 AFC Championship against the Cincinnati Bengals. Williams teamed with a former Howard defensive back to snag a deflected pass, pushing Kansas City into the Super Bowl.

He earned championships in both his rookie and sophomore seasons with the Chiefs. His snaps in the Kansas City secondary dwindled over recent years. Williams turned his attention to special teams, where he flipped field position with clutch plays.

The Titans limped to a 3-14 finish in the 2025 season. That dismal showing handed them the fourth overall selection in the 2026 NFL Draft.

Tennessee aims to reconstruct its defense after one of the franchise's most forgettable years. Adding a two-time champion brings seasoning to a roster full of youngsters.
