Celebrities Bid Farewell to 2024

As the calendar flips to 2025, celebrities celebrate the new year with family and friends. They’re just like us—just significantly richer, more famous, and better looking. Some celebrities bid farewell to 2024 with gratitude for new opportunities and career-defining roles, while others closed the year with lawsuits. It was an eventful year with drama and scandals, just the perfect addition to our weekly gossip catch-up with friends.   

Let’s take a stroll down the red carpet and see how the A-listers (and B-listers, along with the rest of the alphabet) bid farewell to 2024.  

The "Umbrella" singer kept it casual and welcomed the new year while holding her phone and waiting for the countdown. She captioned the post, “New Year, New Me.”   

Lucy Hale welcomed the new year “on the water.” The F— Marry Kill star posted a carousel of photos onboard a yacht and swimming. She wrote in the caption, “got to spend the last day of the year on the water with 3 incredible friends and humans and all I wanted to do today was jump in the water and say out loud what we were leaving behind in 2024!! grateful for a year of growth, friendship, and perspective. happy new year everyone. I am so very thankful for all of you & hope you step into the new year with massive love for yourself xx”  

Pretty Little Liars fans went wild upon seeing Hale with Tyler Blackburn, her co-star who played Caleb Rivers, Ashley Benson’s character’s love interest. The two have been rumored to be dating for so long but have repeatedly stated that they’re just friends. Blackburn came out as bisexual in 2019.  

The Freakier Friday actress posted a recap of her 2024 featuring her son Luai’s first birthday and photos on set with her co-stars. She wrote, "Cheers to new beginnings, endless possibilities, and a heart full of gratitude. Here’s to making 2025 unforgettable! ✨ 🫶🙏#HappyNewYear"

Fans have been flooding her posts with congratulatory remarks and positive comments for her successful comeback. Paris Hilton also commented, "So proud of you love!😍👏" 

Kelsea Ballerini posted a picture of her and her boyfriend Chase Stokes to end 2024. Her caption read, “grateful to be on this floating rock for another year.”  

Love Katy Perry’s caption for her New Year post! The singer welcomed 2025 with Bloom in Japan, “We put the OK in tOKyo for NY 🎊🎍” Perry uploaded a video of the pair doing yoga and drinking what we can only assume as sake, showing off her Hello Kitty bedazzled shoes, and a box of neatly arranged strawberries, blueberries and green grapes.  

The New Rules singer posted a carousel of photos of herself enjoying “the last days of 2024,” drinking and having a good time with friends.
