Swift is one of the most famous singers in the world, but now she also has one of the most famous quotes of the year. During a tense election year, many celebrities were very outspoken about who they were voting for. Swift was somewhat quiet until she released one of the most popular Instagram posts of the year.
In the post, she showed her support for Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris. Within the post, she discussed her thoughts on the election and why she was endorsing Harris and then called herself a “childless cat lady”; the photo displayed her with her pet cat. The social media post immediately became one of the most viral endorsements.
The quote was a direct response to now Vice President-elect, JD Vance, who years ago made a comment about Democrats being “a bunch of childless cat ladies who are miserable at their own lives and the choices that they’ve made and so they want to make the rest of the country miserable, too.”
In the post, Swift also states, “I’ve done my research, and I’ve made my choice. Your research is all yours to do, and the choice is yours to make.”
