Lily Allen’s Side Hustle Making More Money than Her Music
Lily Allen is a multi-hyphenate. She’s a singer, songwriter, actress, and author. She’s been known in the music industry ever since she debuted her single “Smile” in 2006 and has since explored different creative outlets. She hosted the TV show Lily Allen and Friends, acted in the film How to Build a Girl (alongside brother Alfie Allen), wrote her autobiography, My Thoughts Exactly, and took to the stage in 2:22 A Ghost Story.
Despite her impressive résumé, Allen recently ventured into another career, one she said is more lucrative: content creation on OnlyFans.
Lily Allen’s OnlyFans Account
Allen joined OnlyFans recently. Her content? Pictures of her feet. The singer shared she joined the platform because “her feet were ‘highly-rated’ on the internet,” per Daily Mail. For her part, she said on the latest episode of her podcast Miss Me? that it felt “empowering.” She added, “Having been very sexualized from a very early age, and literally everybody else in the process profiting from that sexualization, it’s actually really fun to be like, in power and in control of something that I find so silly.”
Lucrative Side Hustle
As published on Billboard, Allen mentioned her side hustle is making her significant money. However, not everyone is a fan of her latest undertaking. One fan responded to her promoting her Only Fans account, “Imagine being one of the biggest pop stars/musicians in Europe and then being reduced to this.” It seemed the singer was undeterred by the comment, tweeting, “Imagine being and artist and having nearly 8 million monthly listeners on spotify but earning more money from having 1000 people subscribe to pictures of your feet. don’t hate the player, hate the game.”
What Her Husband Thinks About It
Lily Allen, who’s been married to Stranger Things’ David Harbour since 2020 said the actor “thinks it’s great.” As reported by People, Allen said, “At first, he was like, not turned on, but he was like, ‘Is this a kink for you?’ And I was like, ‘No, it’s totally not a kink,’ but maybe there’s something in the power element of it that’s slightly kinky for me.”
Perhaps the reason why Harbour is okay with it is because of Allen’s guidelines. “It ends in the same place that it starts — it’s only feet. I’ve got very strict guidelines. And believe me, these guys are all up in my DMs telling me they want bespoke content and asking me for all kinds of crazy stuff and I take such pleasure in just saying: ‘Only feet, only feet.'”
Girl’s got to eat and who can blame her? According to USA Today, Spotify only pays artists $0.0033 per stream.
