Fayetteville Walk To End Alzheimer’s Coming This Weekend, Registration Still Open
This weekend the Alzheimer’s Association will be in our area for the 2024 Fayetteville Walk To End Alzheimer’s. Registration is open now through the day of the event on Saturday, October 26.
What Is The Walk To End Alzheimer’s?
As its name suggests, the 2024 Walk to End Alzheimer’s is an uplifting and inspiring event that calls on people of all ages and abilities to join the fight against Alzheimer’s disease. Alzheimer’s is an extremely debilitating brain disorder that gradually destroys the mind’s ability to retain memories or even perform basic tasks.
According to research from the Alzheimer’s Association, nearly 7 million Americans are living with this absolutely terrible disease. Funds raised for this upcoming event will go toward the research, support and care programs provided by the association in hopes of one day curing Alzheimer’s once and for all.
The Eastern North Carolina chapter of the association set a goal to raise $185,000 for this weekend’s event. As of the time of this article, 75 percent of the goal has been met with nearly $140,000 raised. There is still time to make a donation on Fayetteville’s event page on the Alzheimer’s Association website.
