Massey Hill Lions Club 51st annual ‘Shucking For Sight’ Oyster Roast
My friend, please save the date of Saturday, January 27, 2024. This will be a really special day in Cumberland County as the Massey Hill Lions Club will hold their 51st annual “Shucking For Sight” Oyster Roast. The event takes place from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. at the Massey Hill Lion’s Club at 1613 Camden Road in Fayetteville, North Carolina 28306. Tickets for the annual all-you-can-eat event are only $50 each and includes the most delicious oysters ever, the crackers, the hush puppies, all the sauces, iced tea and/or water.
Now, there are a few ground rules. This is a dine-in event only and there will not be any to-go containers.
All of the money raised will be donated to the Lions Cottage at The Boy’s and Girl’s Home at Lake Waccamaw, North Carolina. Mr. Tom Lamont, Director of Community Engagement for the home told me that the Lion’s Cottage is an aging facility that was built in 1960 and due to its age and condition, the funds raised during the Massey Hill Lions Club Oyster Roast will help in a big way with the much needed renovations to the facility.
