Lindsay Lohan is officially a mother. The Freaky Friday actress, 37, and her husband, Bader Shammas, have welcomed their first child together -- a baby boy, a rep for the actress confirms to People today (July 17). The new parents named their son Luai, which means "shield or protector" in Arabic. Shammas is a Lebanese financier, and the couple married in July of last year after announcing her engagement with a series of Instagram photos in November 2021.

As we previously reported, Lohan revealed in March that she was pregnant via a photo of a white onesie with the writing: “Coming soon…” written across. She captioned the post, “We are blessed and excited!” with a prayer hands, white heart, baby, and baby bottle emojis. She told gossip website TMZ at the time, “We are very excited for our new family member to arrive and we are looking forward to this next chapter of our lives!”

Perfect Timing

Luai was born in Dubai, though his exact date of birth has not been shared at this time. Mom Dina Lohan told People that Lindsay has long wanted to be a mother. She told the publication, "Lindsay has always loved kids because I love kids, and my mother loves kids." She added that with their big family, LiLo always wanted children and is "so maternal." Dina added that the timing of her getting pregnant was "perfect" for her and Shammas. "She's been trying, and then it happened. That little stick came up positive," she explained. "It's the right time for her, and Bader is an angel. Her husband is so sweet, and they're just so happy. They're just really happy and ready." Last week, Lohan shared a photo caressing her baby bump and her nursery for her baby boy.

Speaking to Allure last month, the Mean Girls actress opened up about her new chapter ahead, where she'll balance her career and being a mom. She told the outlet, "I can't wait to see what the feeling is and what it's like to just be a mom. Happy tears. That's just who I am. Though now, it’s probably baby emotion. It’s overwhelming in a good way."
