Anya Taylor-Joy has a unique face you can't forget after seeing her: high cheekbones, wide-set eyes and a pointy chin. However, it wasn't until the criticisms of those on social media that she felt self-conscious about the distance between her eyes. In 2016, the actress did an interview with W Magazine in which she was immediately asked if she’s ever felt “self-conscious” over her facial features.

The publication flat-out asked the then 20-year-old actress, "You have those beautiful eyes and they’re so far apart. When you were a kid, did they make you self-conscious?” The Witch star said she was "never aware" that her eyes were far apart. Until someone tagged her on Facebook in "a picture with a fish, and they were like, 'This is you ’cause your eyes are like here.'"

Taylor-Joy's confidence in herself plummeted as she recalled, "I kind of stopped looking in mirrors for a very long time. I still don’t really spend a lot of time in front of mirrors because I don’t really have to deal with my face. Unfortunately, y’all do." Anya later told interviewer Lynn Hirschberg that she was still “growing into” herself and felt a lot “less awkward” as a result.

Her Fans' Support

Her interview resurfaced on Twitter over the weekend, but this time, fans defended the actress' features. One fan wrote, "She’s gorgeous people need to leave her alone." Another fan said, "Are u serious? Before I even knew Anya Taylor, I saved pictures of her on Pinterest cos she's literally the most beautiful woman I ever saw! Tried drawing her, but the references were too gorgeous to do justice. I'm so surprised she's getting hate for her looks!" Another fan said, "What I literally thought she was one of the most beautiful people in the world when I saw Split." One fan sadly said, "This is depressing af, I feel bad for her. I think she looks amazing."
