Andrew H. Walker/Getty ImagesAfter rumors swirling of the end of their marriage, Tom Brady and Gisele Bündchen seem to be heading for the end zone. Per Page Six, both have retained divorce lawyers, multiple sources told the publication.
As we previously reported, the couple has been living separately for the past couple of months. “I never actually thought this argument would be the end of them, but it looks like it is,” one source said of the heated arguments over Brady’s decision to un-retire from the NFL. “I don’t think there will be any coming back now," the insider continued. "They both have lawyers and are looking at what a split will entail, who gets what and what the finances will be.”
Although sources close to Bündchen have stressed that it is “sexist” to say the split is over the model’s issues with Brady's return to the NFL, the source says, “As with many marriages, it’s not just one thing. Gisele has made it clear that she worried about Tom playing football and that they had had many talks about it. But they have had a series of blowups over the past few years, and this time it looks like there’s no going back.”
Insiders close to the seven-time Super Bowl champ, 45, and the supermodel, 42, say both are very involved in their children’s lives and would share joint custody. They share son Benjamin, 12, and daughter Vivian, 9, and Brady is also the father of son Jack, 15, with ex Bridget Moynahan.
The Florida-based couple would likely file for divorce in the state, legal experts say. Another source confirms they are looking at dividing their assets, which includes a $26 million property portfolio. Ahead of Hurricane Ian, the pair both fled Tampa, where Brady is playing for the Buccaneers and went to Miami, where they have been staying apart. Bündchen has been staying in the Miami home that she and Brady rented in 2020; it’s not clear where the quarterback was staying.
Last month, Gisele wished Tom a happy birthday in an Instagram post with their two children. She wrote, "Happy birthday to one of the most focused, disciplined and fashionable person I know! @tombrady you are so loved and we are always here cheering for you and wishing you all the most wonderful things in life!"
In July, Brady dedicated a post to his wife and wrote on Instagram, "Happy Birthday @gisele. Enjoy your special day and I know this year will be your best year yet. Thank you for inspiring me with your honesty and authenticity."
Gisele Bündchen and Tom Brady Through The Years
Gisele Bündchen and Tom Brady have been married since 2009 and share two children together: Vivian Lake Brady and Benjamin Rein. After meeting through friends in 2006, Brady and Bündchen started seeing each other that December.
“I knew right way — the first time I saw him,” she recalled to Vanity Fair in 2009 about Brady. “We met through a friend. The moment I saw him, he smiled and I was like, ‘That is the most beautiful, charismatic smile I’ve ever seen!’ We sat and talked for three hours. I had to go home for Christmas, but I didn’t want to leave. You know that feeling of, like, you can’t get enough? From the first day we met, we’ve never spent one day without speaking to each other.”
For the picture-perfect couple, it wasn't always rainbows and butterflies. They had their fair share of trouble, starting with Brady's ex, Bridget Moynahan being pregnant with his child in February 2007.
The couple got engaged in January of 2009 and wed one month later in Santa Monica, California. They then threw another wedding two months later in Costa Rica. Nine months later, the couple welcomed their first child together, Benjamin. Three years later daughter Vivian was born.
Over a decade later and the couple is still in love and stronger than ever. See Brady and Bündchen's relationship grow through the years below:
