Beyoncé Vetting ‘Renaissance’ Collaborators For ‘MeToo’ Allegations
As Beyoncé’s seventh studio album Renaissance is right around the corner, the icon is learning from her past, and making sure that her collaborators are properly vetted against any #MeToo allegations.
In 2020, Detail, a producer who worked on the singer’s 2013 hit “Drunk In Love,” was arrested on 15 counts of sexual assault. According to The Sun, Beyoncé was “devastated” and is now making sure this doesn’t happen again for her forthcoming album, HipHopDX reports.
“She stopped working with him and her team now run #MeToo checks on any potential collaborators,” the source said. “Two songs from high-profile artists have been rejected because of allegations they are facing. Although neither has been found guilty, she’s sending a clear message to the industry in the wake of troubling cases from people like R. Kelly and Harvey Weinstein.”
Although some might find Beyoncé’s vetting process “extreme” the source added that the icon doesn’t want any kind of abuse or harassment to be “normalized” and simply “doesn’t care” about what others think.
Detail, born Noel Fisher, was charged with raping five women and sexually assaulting a sixth between 2010 and 2018. He’s currently being held on $6.9 million bail.
