Beyoncé Makes History On Billboard Hot 100 Chart With ‘Break My Soul’
Beyoncé has made history for becoming the first woman ever to rack up at least 20 top 10 hits as a solo act and 10 or more top 10s as a group member on the Billboard Hot 100.
Her newest release, “Break My Soul,” jumped from No. 15 to No. 7 after its first full week of tracking.
The icon is the third artist to reach this feat, following behind Paul McCartney and Michael Jackson.
The 28-time Grammy winner gained her first solo top 10 on the Hot 100 with “’03 Bonnie & Clyde” by her now-husband Jay-Z where she was the featured vocalist. Additionally, when she was in the 90s/2000s group Destiny’s Child they racked up 10 top 10s including No. 1 hits for “Say My Name,” “Independent Woman Part 1,” “Bills, Bills, Bills,” and “Bootylicious.”
Prior to the release of “Break My Soul,” Beyonce’s appearance on fellow Houston native Megan Thee Stallion’s “Savage (Remix)” was her latest top 10 entry. The artists won “Best Rap Song” and “Best Rap Performance” at the 63rd Grammy Awards for the record.
“Break My Soul” is the lead single from Beyoncé’s forthcoming album Renaissance, which is slated to arrive on July 29.
