Beyoncé Releases First Single From ‘Renaissance’: ‘Break My Soul’
Beyoncé’s first single is out for her highly anticipated seventh album Renaissance.
“Break My Soul” was released Tuesday (June 21) at midnight and the song gives an insight into what Renaissance might sound like. Like Drake’s latest LP Honestly, Nevermind, “Break My Soul” is also in the dance genre.
The track was produced by Beyoncé, The-Dream, and Christopher “Tricky” Stewart. Additionally credited co-writers include Jay-Z, Adam “BlaqNmilD” Pigott, Big Freedia, Allen George, and Fred McFarlane.
Although the icon still does not have a profile picture up on any of her social media accounts, she gave fans a single cover look for “Break My Soul” for now.
On the cover, Bey is wearing an Alaïa fall 2022 corset jumpsuit with matching opera gloves. She also switched up her hair and chose to wear a bob similar to her Valentine’s Day Ivy Park collection photos. The caption for the cover simply read, “BREAK MY SOUL out now.”
“Break My Soul” is the first original song since she released the Oscar-nominated track “Be Alive” last year. Renaissance is out July 29.
