Per CNN, Miller, 29, was arrested for second-degree assault around 1:30 a.m. during a traffic stop on Tuesday following an incident at a private residence in the district of Puna. Miller, who is non-binary and uses they/them pronouns was released about two and a half hours later.
"During the course of their investigation, police determined that the individual, later identified as Ezra Miller, became irate after being asked to leave and reportedly threw a chair, striking a 26-year-old female on the forehead, resulting in an approximate half-inch cut," according to a news release. The woman injured refused treatment, according to police.
Last month, Miller, who also stars in Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore, allegedly ripped a microphone out of a woman’s hands who was singing karaoke and lunged at a man playing darts at the Margarita Village karaoke bar in Hilo. They were charged with disorderly conduct and harassment. Yesterday afternoon, Miller appeared virtually in a Hilo courtroom to plead no contest to disorderly conduct stemming from that incident and agreed to pay a $500 fine. A harassment charge was dropped.
Per Comicbook, a temporary restraining order was filed against them by a couple on the island. Stoyan Kojoukarov and his wife, Niegel Hayes, filed a temporary restraining order against the actor last month, after alleging that Miller burst into their bedroom window and threatened to burn them. Miller also reportedly stole several items from the couple, including Hayes' passport and wallet. The restraining order claims that the couple is continuing to suffer emotionally due to Miller's behavior, and are worried that the actor's has "access to weapons," and that they could potentially send "associates" to further harass them at a later date.
