Hailey Bieber Recalls a ‘Very Sad’ Time Her and Justin Didn’t Speak
Hailey Bieber talked about her relationship with her husband Justin Bieber in , including discussing a rough patch where they didn’t speak to one another.
Per USA Today, the 24-year-old model confessed she did something that led to a period where she and the pop singer, 27, were not on good terms. “It was actually very sad when we didn’t speak,” she said. “I did something that really hurt him, and I think that kind of maybe took that idea (of marrying me) out of his mind at that point.”
Though it wasn’t specifically revealed as to what she did, Hailey said it was “something very immature and stupid.” She told the “Peaches” singer that there was “one solidified moment” she thought damaged the relationship. But even when the couple didn’t speak to each other, she never lost hope of one day marrying him because of Justin’s genuine desire to have a family.
Justin was also going through mental health issues, during which time Hailey called her mother concerned about her future with him. “I was calling her, I was crying, and I was like, ‘I just can’t do it. There’s no way that I’m going to be able to do this if it’s going to be like this forever,'” she said, without revealing what Justin was dealing with. “She was so calm on the phone, and she was like, ‘It’s going to pass, and you’re going to be fine, and he’s going to be healthy, and we’re here for you.'”
“Imagine abandoning somebody in the middle of the worst time of their life potentially,” Hailey continued. “I’m not that type of a person. I was going to stick it out no matter what the outcome was going to be.”
This isn’t the first time the Biebers have gotten candid about their relationship. On Demi Lovato’s 4D YouTube series, Hailey cleared the air about rumors that her marriage with Justin Bieber was on rocky ground, stemming from a viral video from Las Vegas appearing to show Justin yelling at her. She told Lovato that there was no truth to the rumors that Justin mistreats her.
“There’s so many narratives that float around about me, about him, about us together,” Hailey told Lovato. “It’s so far from the truth, and it’s the complete and utter opposite.” Hailey later said she considers herself “lucky to say I’m with someone who is extremely respectful of me, who makes me feel special every single day.” Whenever she sees claims to the opposite of that, “I’m just like, ‘Huh?’” Hailey said.
The couple married in secret at a New York City courthouse in September 2018. A year later, the two renewed their vows in a big South Carolina ceremony.
