This all stems from 28-year-old Miley posting on Instagram in support of the show the pair are both slated to appear on May 8:
One user wrote: "This has to be a joke."
Another Instagram user wrote,"Oooooof why Musk??? 😢"
"not elon musk 💀🤮" wrote another.
In addition to the Instagram post, a fan tweeted a picture to Musk with him sitting on a massive wrecking ball in a parody of Miley's 2013 video for "Wrecking Ball" captioning, "alright Elon just…. hear me out." Musk said in response, "Might be something there haha," to which Cyrus responded, "I’m down if you are! #MileyAndMusk to the moon!"
Cyrus fans on Twitter were not having the playful banter with the Tesla CEO:
As we earlier reported, Elon Musk's SNL appearance caused shade thrown at him from cast members from the show.
Besides Musk’s insane amount of wealth and power, people don’t seem to like his Tweets in regards to COVID-19, spreading misinformation and denial. Musk downplayed the Coronavirus, calling panic induced by the outbreak “dumb” at the start of the pandemic. He also wrongly predicted that there would be “close to zero new cases” by the end of last April. That same month, he demanded an end to pandemic closures. He also came under fire for threatening to revoke stock options for Tesla employees if they moved to unionize. The National Labor Relations Board forced him to remove the tweet.
Cyrus has appeared on the show five times to date. Her most recent musical performance on SNL was last April during an at-home episode where she sang the Pink Floyd's "Wish You Were Here." She's hosted the show in 2011, 2013 and 2015, also taking the role of the musical guest in the latter two.
