Queen Elizabeth Responds To Harry and Meghan’s Interview
The silence has finally been broken from the Royal Family, and they have responded to Oprah Winfrey’s interview with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. .
CNBC reported that at about 5:30 p.m. London time, Buckingham Palace issued a statement on behalf of Queen Elizabeth:
“The whole family is saddened to learn the full extent of how challenging the last few years have been for Harry and Meghan. The issues raised, particularly that of race, are concerning. While some recollections may vary, they are taken very seriously and will be addressed by the family privately. Harry, Meghan and Archie will always be much loved family members.”
Per the outlet, the palace is said to have held “crisis talks” with senior royals. It is reported they have had urgent discussions over how to limit the fallout from the interview, like the allegations made against a member of the royal family questioning the skin tone Harry and Meghan’s then-unborn child might have.
As we previously reported, Markle alleged the royal family raised “concerns” during her pregnancy with how dark her son Archie’s skin might be.
