Piers Morgan Calls Harry And Meghan’s Interview A “Betrayal”
All the events leading up to and following Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Oprah interview have garnered a lot of controversy. Much of the negative reception and backlash comes from their home country.
Piers Morgan was one of those people who criticized the ex-royals, calling their two-hour sit-down “an absolutely disgraceful betrayal of The Queen and the royal family,” Page Six reported. Morgan has never been a fan of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, and took to Twitter to share his thoughts:
Lots of people on here want me fired for expressing my opinion on the Pinocchio Princess. If you want to join them, there are various petitions still doing the rounds from the last few times you've all tried, and failed, to have me fired for saying what I think.

Morgan wrote an article about the interview on The Daily Mail, opening the article like this:
“Sickening.
Shameful.
Self-pitying.
Salacious.
Scandalous.
Sanctimonious.
Spectacularly self-serving.”
Morgan’s article described the interview as “a disgraceful diatribe of cynical race-baiting propaganda designed to damage the Queen as her husband lies in hospital – and destroy the Monarchy.”
Queen Elizabeth’s staff members apparently share Morgan’s viewpoints, as some allegedly came up with the term “Moperah” after seeing the “whiney” early trailers released by CBS, Page Six reported.
Per the outlet, royal staff described Prince Harry as Meghan Markle’s “hostage” before the couple left for their new life in the US. In the days leading up to Sunday’s interview with Winfrey, Markle was accused of bullying palace aides during her time there.
Winfrey’s interview, which aired on CBS (and was given two hours of air time), said there was no pre-interview agreement, there was no subject off limits and that the couple were not getting paid for the interview.
As we reported earlier, Markle admitted that she considered suicide as a result of how she was treated by the British tabloids, as well as what she felt was the lack of support from the Royal Family, or the “firm.”
Markle alleged the royal family raised “concerns” during her pregnancy with how dark her son Archie’s skin might be.
“That conversation, I am never going to share,” Harry said. “At the time, it was awkward, I was a bit shocked… It was right at the beginning. What will the kids look like? That was at the beginning when she wasn’t going to get security, when my family suggested that she might continue acting,” so that she could continue to earn her own money.
