Nikki McKibbin: Former ‘American Idol’ Contestant Dies at 42
Nikki McKibbin, best known for appearing on season one of American Idol, has died. She was 42.
Per TMZ, McKibbin’s cause of death was due to a brain aneurysm.
McKibbin placed third on season one of American Idol behind Justin Guarini and winner Kelly Clarkson. McKibbin was known for more of a rock style on the music competition series and covered songs from the likes of Janis Joplin, Stevie Nicks and famously crushed a cover of Alannah Myles’ “Black Velvet.”
