Movie Theaters To Begin Reducing Hours Due To Of The Lack Of New Movies Coming
Many fall blockbusters have been delayed due to COVID-19. Because of this, many movie theaters will cut back on hours.
According to the New York Post, chains including AMC Theaters, Regal Cinemas, and Cinemark are limiting showtimes because there are no major films being released until late November. They add that movie houses in smaller markets will even begin closing certain days of the week when traffic is low.
Due to COVID-19, many highly anticipated movies, like Wonder Woman 1984, Black Widow and No Time to Die have been delayed.
The outlet adds, “The impact of the delays has been immediate on movie theaters. According to Comscore, 3,453 out of 6,000 North American theaters were back in business over the weekend of Sept. 18. As of now, that number shrank to 3,350.”
