Town of Hope Mills Suspending Recycling Pickup
The Town of Hope Mills announced Monday that it will be suspending the collection of recycling materials, effective Monday, April 13.
Trash services will not impacted by this change. In a release, officials said residents can place extra household trash in their yellow-lid recycling containers, and place it curbside for regular trash collection.
“We recognize this change in policy adversely effects those who consciously recycle, however, the current pandemic climate compels this temporary shift in policy to accommodate the increase in household trash levels caused by the shelter in place order,” the release said.
Residents who want to voluntarily recycle can still choose to take their items to the county container sites at 4759 Black Bridge Road and 7427 Camden Road, which are still open. Hours of operation are available at http://co.cumberland.nc.us/solid_waste.aspx.
