Watch: Sam Smith Brings the Emotion On ‘To Die For’

Sam Smith has released a new single "To Die For." The ballad is the first single off the singer's upcoming album, which will be out on May 1. Sam discussed the new song, writing, "I poured my heart and soul into this song. So happy 'To Die For' is yours now and I can’t express how excited I am to sing this live one day soon."

According to Rolling Stone, Sam wrote this song during a difficult time in their life. "Releasing this song is going to be a wild one — I feel like it’s from one of the deepest parts of me, I wrote this with Jimmy Napes and Stargate in L.A. during a time of self-discovery and heartbreak. This is for all the lonely hearts out there on another Valentine’s Day xx." Rolling Stone also adds that the video channels the cult classic, Donnie Darko. Watch "To Die For" below.
