R. Kelly’s Trial Date Set In Federal Chicago Case
Embattled singer-songwriter R. Kelly now has a trial date set in his federal child pornography and obstruction of justice case in his hometown of Chicago, as Fox 5 Atlanta reports….

A judge has set Kelly's trial date for April 27, 2020. However, on Wednesday (Sept. 4) during a status hearing, a judge said that the singer's trial date could be moved since the troubled artist faces similar cases in three other judicial districts.
While Kelly attended the hearing, the "I Believe I Can Fly" singer stood in the courtroom wearing orange jail attire with his hands behind his back. Many of the artist's supporters waved at the singer as Kelly, 52, was taken back to jail. He nodded in their direction, while they greeted him.
Kelly's attorney Steve Greenberg said at the hearing that preparing for four separate trials is a challenge and he wasn't sure that Kelly's legal team could be ready by April. According to prosecutor Angel Krull, the trial would last for three weeks. Kelly's next hearing is Sept. 18.
