‘Ocean’s 8’ Is Going To Be Even More Killer Than ‘Ocean’s Eleven’
George Clooney, watch your back.
Sandra Bullock plays the female version of Daniel Ocean, aka Debbie Ocean, and assembles her team of thieves, just like her brother… That’s right, we’re not just remaking ‘Ocean’s Eleven,’ it is a spin-off.
James Corden graces the trailer, and asks Debbie “Is the whole family like this?” and she agrees – meaning that these two stories exist in the same universe.
Cate Blanchett is the Rusty (Brad Pitt) of this story, named Lou, and helps to assemble a team of Constance (Awkwafina – who seems to be the Linus, Matt Damon‘s character), Rose (Helena Bonham Carter), Daphne Kluger (Anne Hathaway), Amita (Mindy Kaling), Tammy (Sarah Paulson), and Rihanna as Nine Ball, who seems to be a hybrid of Basher and Livingston Dell, but with a lot more sass.
Though there are a lot of comparisons to the characters themselves, reassure yourselves that this is no copycat. Being that the story reacts inside the same universe, Debbie hatches a plan to rob the MET Gala, which means we may even get our second glimpse of Anna Wintour in a comedy (her last was ‘Zoolander 2′).
We also have to wonder, if they have lead us to know that Debbie is Danny’s sister, if at the very least, Clooney, Pitt, and Damon may make an end sequence cameo.
Watch the trailer here, and mentally prepare yourselves: June 8, 2018 is the date of the robbery.
Amy Cooper is one with the force and the force is with her.
