Ed Sheeran Deletes Twitter Again Amid GOT Cameo Backlash
He’s at it again!
Breaking up with social media for the second time. Ed Sheeran doesn’t seem to handle Twitter controversy and harsh criticism too well.
According to BBC, the “Shape Of My Heart” singer deleted his Twitter account on Monday after receiving serious Twitter backlash and mixed reviews on his brief cameo appearance in the worldwide hit series Game Of Thrones that premiered its seventh season on Sunday night. For die-hard fans, it made the opener that much better. For others, hearing him repeatedly on the radio is plenty. Oh well, at least he’s still on Instagram.
The first time the British star decided to quit Twitter was almost a month ago when he felt he needed a detox from the oftentimes harsh realities of social media. Sheeran only took a break from Twitter to explore the world, but he never actually deleted his account.
Perhaps, he’s tired of being slammed. He’s definitely the kind who prefers to stay clear of any online abuse and negative comments that might ‘ruin his day’. Maybe, he has the right idea.
Below are some of the reactions from his sudden decision to fully leave the Twitter world.

Fair enough if people didn't like Ed Sheeran's cameo in #GameOfThones but to send him so much abuse that he deletes his twitter account... pic.twitter.com/RAFk0mgGgB

Despite all the Ed Sheeran chatter, Game of Thrones delivered an incredible 16.1 million viewers for the highly anticipated kick-off to its seventh season across all HBO platforms, including repeats and streaming and DVR, according to Entertainment Weekly.
And for Ed Sheeran himself, he’s coming to the popular animated comedy, The Simpsons, to voice a musician. We wonder what Twitter will have to say about that one.
